Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL)

Bharat Electronics Limited is a manufacturing company of military and civil equipment and plant under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. It was established in 1954 by the Government of India under the Ministry of Defense to meet the special challenging requirements of the military sector.

Its first factory was set up in Bangalore for the purpose of developing and producing electronic equipment and systems in the country itself, but today it is a huge public sector undertaking with its nine production units, several regional offices, and R&D laboratories, which has received the status of Navratna Industry from the Government of India on the result of its commercial performance.

Container Corporation of India Limited (CCIL)

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL)

MTNL was set up on 1st April 1986 by the Government of India to upgrade the quality of telecom services, expand the telecom network, introduce new services and raise revenue for the telecom development needs of the major metro cities of India, Delhi, and Mumbai. MTNL is a major provider of fixed-line telecom service in the two metropolitan cities of Delhi and Mumbai. MTNL has been given Navratna status in 1992 and was listed on New York Stock Exchange in 2001.

National Aluminum Company Limited (NALCO)

National Aluminum Company Limited (NALCO) is a Navratna Company under the Ministry of Mines. It was established on 7th January 1981 with its registered office at Bhubaneswar. The company is a Category ‘A’ Public Sector Enterprise with integrated and diversified operations in Mining, Metals, and Power. Presently, the Government of India holds 51.28% equity in NALCO. NALCO has one of the largest integrated Bauxite – Alumina, Aluminium – Power Complex in the country.

NBCC (India) Limited (NBCC)

NBCC (India) Limited formerly known as National Buildings Construction Corporation Limited is a Blue Chip Navratna Company under the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India. NBCC is executing several notable projects in the form of PMC which contributes to 85% of the annual revenue. The company’s strong potential includes roads, hospitals, medical colleges, institutions, offices, airport bridges, industrial and environmental structures, etc.

NMDC Limited (NMDCL)

NMDC Limited was established in the year 1958 as a wholly-owned Public Sector Enterprise of the Government of India. It is under the administrative control of the Ministry of Steel, Government of India. It is a consistent profit-making company and pays dividends. In recognition of the company’s growing, strong and outstanding performance, it was awarded the category of “Navratna Public Sector Enterprise” in 2008 by the Department of Public Enterprises.

NLC India Limited was earlier named Neyveli Lignite Corporation India Limited. It is a Navratna Company of the Government of India. It mines lignite. Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited, the corporate arm of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant is a Navratna PSU under the Ministry of Steel. Visakhapatnam Steel Plant is known as Vizag Steel. It is the first Coast-Based Integrated Steel Plant in the country and is known for its quality products that delight the customers.

Rural Electrification Corporation Limited (RECL)

Rural Electrification Corporation Limited is a Navratna Public Sector Company. It is playing an important role in the development of the power sector, especially rural electrification. REC was incorporated in July 1969, with the main objective of funding rural electrification schemes. There are 18 Project Offices and 5 Zonal Offices in India for the conduct and development of business.
